Frozen Pipes

Why did my pipe freeze? Water expands when it freezes. This expansion puts an extreme amount of pressure on your pipes regardless if it is made of PVC, copper, or metal. This pressure can cause the pipes inside your home to freeze, and even worse, burst. When pipes are exposed to the extreme cold on a consistent basis, they run a high risk of freezing. Water supply lines that are most likely to freeze are those that run along an exterior wall of your home, reside outside, or run through an unheated area of your house.    Experiencing Frozen Pipes One of the first signs of a frozen pipe inside of your home is turning on a plumbing fixture and experiencing little to no water flow.
